We could play it cool and pretend like we’re not completely giddy with pride that Secret Agent PR’s humble HQ was featured last week on Unplggd, but then we’d be lying. We’re really not that cool.
Huge thanks to ph-antastic photographers and magical stylists Laure Joliet and Abby Stone for not only taking some amazing photos of our little space, but also for waiving their magic “pretty” wands. I was seriously amazed at how Abby was able to transform a pile of random books and magazines into a perfectly lovely vignette in under 30 seconds. (Will you please move in with me?)
Next up on our list of design to-dos for the office? We’re framing some of our best cover stories (like this one in Elle Decoration Germany) and going to create a lovely little DIY art piece for the big blank spot on our wall which was artfully omitted from the Unplggd story. We can’t wait to share photos in a few months when we finally get it done.
Despite the post-apocalyptic deluge this past weekend, Proto Homes hosted a pretty great preview and party at the Sunlight Residence, the company’s first completed project located in Baldwin Hills. Only the stalwart made it out to the party, but those who braved the rain were rewarded with amazing nosh, personalized tours with extremely well-trained and ridiculously informative docents, and some pretty great late night techno.
What was our favorite part of the evening (besides the deliciously irresistible mashed potato bar…)? Chatting outside with one of the neighbors who was a veritable font of information. Best factoid of the evening: Bubba Smith is one of Proto Homes’ neighbors. And if you ever wondered what happened to Mrs. Parker? She lives down the street too.
Big thanks to Carla Choy for snapping some amazing photos!
In case you missed Julie’s great post on her experience at Alt Design Summit, you can catch it here. We love conferences like this that bring together the best, brightest, and most creative to share their latest projects, products, and ideas.
Friends of Secret Agent may have noticed that we’ve gone off the grid temporarily. We’re still here, infiltrating the media in the name of good design for our amazing clients, but we’ve decided to follow through on one of our new year’s resolutions. Since 2008, we’ve been busily working it with nary a thought to our own marketing and branding. Now entering our junior year in business, we decided it was time to stop being the cobbler with no shoes. Our new shoes…er, SITE, will be live in the very near future. For now, you can follow our exciting missions on facebook or twitter. Or here on our very own dedicated Secret Agent PR blog.
Here’s to an exciting 2011!
