Go: M&A Workshop with Judy Chicago for PSTPosted: October 18, 2011
Unleash your inner sculptor and be a part of the performative construction this weekend! In preparation for the Pacific Standard Time Public Art and Performance Festival next year, Materials & Applications is holding an interactive workshop series led by internationally acclaimed artist Judy Chicago. Known for bold, powerful pieces such as The Dinner Party and The Holocaust Project, Chicago is an icon in the world of contemporary art.
This weekend, participants will work alongside the artist herself to reinterpret her iconic 1968 public art installation, “Disappearing Environments.” In the first of three Sublime Material workshops, Chicago will introduce the background, methods, and creation of the original installation, which was comprised of 91 blocks of dry ice. Tools, safety gear, and 60lb blocks of dry ice will be provided, but with only 40 open spots, spaces are filling up fast!
